The research, “The ‘P’ in Practice. Field evidence on operationalising conflict sensitivity, WPS and YPS across the HDP Nexus,” examines how WeWorld concretely integrates the Peace dimension within the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus. It highlights how conflict sensitivity is embedded throughout all phases of the project cycle, helping to reduce risks, strengthen trust, and promote the non-violent management of tensions.

The study also explores the application of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agendas, underlining the key role of women and young people in conflict prevention, inclusive governance, and social cohesion, and the importance of addressing inequalities and power imbalances.

Drawing on six contexts — Benin, Lebanon, the Swahili Coast, Mozambique, Ukraine, and Italy — the research provides practical insights into operational approaches, challenges, and community perspectives, contributing to more effective and context-sensitive interventions.

It also presents gender-transformative and intergenerational strategies, recognising the central role of women, youth, girls, and boys in building trust and strengthening community relationships.
