Protect Aid Workers: Emergency Support for Humanitarian Staff

We’re sharing an important resource for NGOs: Protect Aid Workers is a rapid response mechanism offering grants up to €10,000 to support staff who have experienced a critical incident directly related to their humanitarian work.

📌 Eligible incidents include:
– Violence, detention, or kidnapping
– Legal issues or threats arising from their work

Please note: Only work-related incidents are eligible — personal or unrelated incidents are not covered.

💡 The mechanism can cover costs related to health issues caused by such incidents, including medical treatment and mental health support. It may also support legal fees, in-country relocation, salary coverage during recovery, or compensation to families in case of severe injury or loss.

🌍 Open to all NGOs working in humanitarian relief contexts.

💶 This initiative is funded by ECHO.
