IsraAID Presentation of the Model for Organizing Psychological Support in Healthcare Facilities

IsraAID Ukraine invites representatives of the NGO Platform and their partners to join a series of regional press conferences presenting the Model for Organizing Psychological Support in Healthcare Facilities, developed within the “Psychologist. Doctor. Patient.” project. The proposed Model is a practical framework that describes how a psychosocial support system can be organized within a specific healthcare facility from the structure of the psychological service and the roles of specialists to patient pathways and collaboration with doctors, hospital management, and external partners.

The Model demonstrates how psychological support can be integrated into the hospital’s daily operations so that it functions not in a fragmented way, but as part of a coherent system of treatment and recovery. It covers primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of care and can be adapted to different types of healthcare facilities.

For the civil society sector, this Model is valuable because it creates a shared understanding of how psychosocial support can be embedded within the healthcare system and provides a foundation for partnerships between NGOs, medical institutions, and communities. It also enables pilot and humanitarian solutions to be translated into more sustainable, system-level approaches.

The Model also includes management and financial components — workforce planning, minimum resource requirements, costing of services, and potential funding sources. This allows it to be used not only as a methodological guide, but also as a tool for planning and scaling at the community and regional levels.

During the press conferences, the following will be presented:

  • the structure and key components of the Model;
  • the results of its piloting in hospitals at different levels;
  • examples of typical situations and solutions from the practice of clinical psychologists.

Dates and cities:

  • Odesa — 27 January, 10:00–12:00
  • Dnipro — 28 January, 12:00–14:00
  • Rivne — 10 February, 12:00–14:00
  • Kyiv — 11 February, 12:00–14:00

Exact venues will be shared with registered participants, as the number of participants is limited.

We would be glad to welcome representatives of the NGO Platform as partners in advancing systemic, accessible, and sustainable psychosocial services within healthcare system in Ukraine.

The Model is available for download.
