Eligibility Criteria
To become a member of the NGO Platform, your organization must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Non-Governmental and Non-Profit: Your organization must be non-governmental, not-for-profit, non-partisan, and non-political, focused on delivering principled humanitarian assistance.
- Registration: Your organization must be registered as an NGO in Ukraine or be in the process of registration.
- Operational Presence: Your organization must currently be implementing humanitarian programs in Ukraine.
- Full-Time Senior Representative: Your organization must have at least one senior representative staff member present full-time in Ukraine.
- Code of Conduct: Your organization must sign and adhere to the NGO Platform’s Code of Conduct.
- Active Participation: Your organization must send a representative to at least 50% of Country Director meetings and respond to 80% of [For Action] requests.
- References: Your organization must submit two recommendation/reference letters at the time of application: one from a current NGO Platform member and one from any humanitarian international or Ukrainian NGO (can also be from another current NGO Platform member).
- Screening: Your organization must pass screening through YouControl (or a similar mechanism).
- Organizational Information: Your organization must submit a brief description including total annual budget, geographical presence, sectors, funding sources, number of staff, implementing partners, and contact details within 14 days after receiving the notification of endorsement of the membership application.
Observer Status
If your organization does not meet the full membership criteria, you may apply for observer status if:
- Non-Operational NGO: Your organization does not implement humanitarian projects but supports the humanitarian response through other activities or activities.
- Independence Requirement: Your organization’s procedures require independence from formal coordination mechanisms (e.g., MSF or Red Cross organizations).
- Implementation Through a Partner: Your organization implements humanitarian projects through a fully registered partner NNGO in Ukraine.
Observers can contribute to discussions but do not have the right to vote, sign-off on, or object to NGO Platform initiatives or products.

Application Process
The process to become a member is as follows:
- Application Submission: Complete the electronic application via the “JOIN US” button below.
- Review and Screening: The Secretariat will review your application, and the host agency will conduct a screening through YouControl (or a similar mechanism).
- Endorsement: If the application is complete and the screening is clear, it will be forwarded to the Steering Committee (SC)for endorsement.
- Notification: The Secretariat will inform you of the SC’s decision.
- Providing contact and organisational information: once you have received the notification of the endorsement of your membership application, you will have 14 days to provide the necessary contact and organisational information on the NGO Platform website.

Is it possible to cancel the membership?
If your organisation does not want to continue being a member of the NGO Platform then you can do so at any time by contacting the Secretariat. You will then be removed from all mailing lists.
