Areas of activity

We work with our NGO members on collective positioning and advocacy. We engage directly with policy and decision makers at Ukraine- and global level to promote respect for rights of conflict-affected people and to lobby on issues of common concern to our members.

The Advocacy Working Group (AWG) leads on this work and is comprised of dedicated advocacy staff and/or individuals with strong advocacy background/experience from within the NGO Platform member and observer organisations. The AWG develops and carries forward the NGO Platform advocacy strategy. The AWG may also address emerging issues as tasked by its members.

The NGO Platform works with its members to identify common interests and priorities, coordinate and share lessons learned and best practices.

We develop, strengthen and strive to maintain productive relationships and mutual understanding among members, as well as with external stakeholders such as the United Nations, Ukrainian civil society organisations and donors.

This is done through regular meetings, including at Country Director and Area Manager levels, working groups and regular engagement with external stakeholders.

NGO Platform works to ensure there is effective and transparent sharing of information among its members and to external stakeholders. This is done through, among others, weekly internal newsletters, briefing notes and meetings.

The NGO Platform continuously engages with donors, UN agencies, Embassies and other external stakeholders. We also represent our members’ interests and priorities in external coordination mechanisms including the Humanitarian Country Team, Humanitarian Access Working Group and the Inter Cluster Coordination Group.
